The Challenge

My primary challenge was to encapsulate Ibiza's distinctive way of life into a digital format. I aimed to create a website that evoked the island's laid-back charm, celebrated its bohemian artistry, and effectively translated these elements into an immersive user experience.

The Approach

The project kicked off with rigorous user research to understand the diverse needs of the target audience. Through a combination of surveys, interviews, and observation, we built a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with varying abilities. This laid the foundation for our user-centered design approach.

Designing for Inclusivity:

The inspiration for Mirou sprang from a deeply personal and empathetic experience. While working in a rehabilitation facility during the COVID-19 pandemic, I witnessed patients with severe disabilities grappling with the isolation imposed by the restrictions. Their inability to communicate with their loved ones during these trying times ignited the spark that led to the creation of Mirou. It was a stark reminder of the importance of inclusivity in our increasingly digital world. Mirou’s design prioritizes inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that individuals with disabilities have the means to connect with their families and friends, breaking down barriers and fostering a more open and understanding society.

Mirou’s UX design was the heart of the project. It involved creating an accessible and intuitive user interface, which factored in considerations such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies. The focus was on crafting a seamless and delightful user experience that catered to everyone.
